We recently completed scheduled Dry riser Maintenance at Motel One Glasgow, Scotland’s largest hotel by room capacity with a busy city-centre location.

The building itself has some unique architectural and design qualities: its design is themed around railway heritage, reflecting its unique location next to one of the UK’s busiest stations- making reliable fire safety systems especially critical.

Dry Risers are a critical part of a building’s fire safety infrastructure. They allow the Fire Service to quickly access water on the upper floors in the event of a fire. Regular inspection, testing and maintenance are essential to ensure the system operates exactly as intended during an emergency.

Our works were carried out in full compliance with BS 9990 and relevant fire safety regulations and included a full system inspection, pressure testing, valve checks and verification that all access points and signage were compliant.

Due to the hotels high occupancy and operational demands, works were carefully scheduled and completed with minimal disruption.
